What of ‘the law?’
I cannot live another man’s life; each man will give account for himself before God. But I can bring forward what the Lord God, our teacher/rabbi, and Father of us— has brought forward to teach me of his Word (both the written of the Lord God, and his living person— Jesus Christ). I can do my very best to describe, scripturally, and with the Lord’s own words— what he says about ‘the law:’ letter and spirit— of the law.
For in Christ— there is freedom, law, and righteousness: but is it the same law that was in/of the old testament? Or did he fulfill the law of God? And are they the same thing, or not??
_____
The Hebrew word Yarah (יָרָה) is a verb that primarily means "to shoot, to throw," or "to cast". Because of this physical action, it figuratively means "to teach, to instruct," or "to direct" (as in aiming an arrow or pointing a finger to guide someone).
For example, in the Bible, it is used for shooting arrows (1 Samuel 20:36) or casting things into the sea (Exodus 15:4).
To Rain: Another related meaning of Yarah is to "flow as water" or "to rain," specifically referring to the "early rain" (Yoreh) that softens the ground for planting. As a Name: (sometimes spelled Yara or Yaara), it carries connotations of flowing like water, an archer hitting a mark, or honey (often associated with Yaarah, meaning honeycomb).
Teach/Direct: The Hebrew noun for instruction or law, Torah (תּוֹרָה), comes from the root Yarah. Just as an archer takes aim and points an arrow toward a target, a teacher provides direction and guidance to a student.
In Hebrew, Torah (תּוֹרָה) literally means "teaching, instruction," or "direction." It is derived from the Hebrew root yara (ירה), which has the dynamic meaning of shooting an arrow straight at a target or pointing a finger to show the way. Because of this, it is fundamentally about guidance and instruction rather than the strict legalistic interpretation of law.
Depending on the context, the term can be used in three ways: The Five Books of Moses— Often called the Pentateuch (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy), the Entire Hebrew Bible— also known as the Tanakh; or all Jewish teachings, in a broad sense— including both the written and oral (such as the Talmud [meaning— learning, instruction, study {and is a massive compilation of ancient oral laws, debates, and commentaries that interpret the written scriptures}] and Midrash [comes from the Hebrew root darash meaning to seek, study, inquire]).
So when a person says ‘torah,’ what and which are they referring to?? The first five books of the old testament Hebrew customs and letter of the law, the entire old testament scriptures, or the written and oral teachings/study?? When people are all over the page concerning what it is to define a thing— there is much confusion in/of a people.
I like to call things as they were intended, and as they were originally defined. That is why I go back to the root of all things— for it will tell you what fruit is going to come: from root to fruit. So I dig back into the etymology of words— their ancient and archaic root definition: what they were intended to mean. And in this case— the word ‘torah’ does not mean ‘law,’ like the English transliteration implies, by using the word ‘law.’ It means— the teaching (or to teach), instructions (or to instruct), or direction (or to direct): of the Lord, over his people. And it is derived from the word ‘yara(h)’ meaning— to shoot forth, throw, or cast— like aiming an arrow, pointing a finger in the right direction, or guiding someone— in taught ways, instructions, and via direction: it is Abba being a Father to us. As much as the word torah comes from yarah in those ways, it also means to flow from the river of God unto us, or rain upon us— as like early rain— or like, to raise up a child (early, young, first); and that rain shall soften the life ground for planting, or being taught further: maturation or ascension in the ways of God and his kingdom ways: and this is sweet as the honeycomb.
But it becomes bitter waters, legalistic, and unachievable when we turn it into an understanding of law, like that of the Pentateuch (the first 5 books of the old testament), that included all the rules and outward regulations of the law: for example keeping and doing all the priesthood did, including clothing requirements, temple instructions, and sacrificing animals. All of that and more is included in the keeping of the old regiment of the letter of the law: and Paul said— that kills. Do we know why? Because no one could keep them. All fell short— and this displayed our inability to live by the dictate of God in outward rules and regulations; due to distance we fell from God’s inward spiritual ways of us: we lost our ability to be spiritually righteous from within, meaning— purity of ourselves in the ways of God.
Jesus came and he fulfilled the law. But what I find interesting is that he did not fulfill the ‘letter of’ the law— which kills. Meaning— the letter of the law showed us how far we fell from righteousness within our spiritual structure, showed us how much we missed the mark, and were led of the carnal nature: it showed estrangement from the Lord God— not unity with him; and it was the beginning of learning that we needed instruction: but we were unable to do instruction to the degree of full obedience in outward rules and regulations. We needed a new testament, covenant, and a new law.

Hebrews 7:11-17
“If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed [G3346: transferred, exchanged, translated and carried over], there is made— of necessity— a change also of the law [G3551: where all is parceled out, where we graze, where we are prescribed regulation, and principled]. For he of whom these things are spoken pertains to another tribe [G5443: offshoot or race], of which no man gave attendance at the altar. For it is evident that our Lord —sprang out of Judah; of which tribe Moses spoke nothing— concerning priesthood [G2420: sacred priestly office]. And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there arises another priest, who is made not after the law of a carnal [bodily temporal or animal unregenerate, fleshly] commandment [G1785: injunction— join in authoritative command, prescriptive authority] —but after the power of an endless LIFE (who would that be— but self-existent eternal Jehovah). For he testifies— Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.”
Hebrews 7:18-19
“For there is verily a disannulling [G115: cancellation and putting away] of the commandment [G1785: injunction— join in authoritative command, prescriptive authority] going (on) before— for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof. For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by which we draw nigh unto God.”
Hebrews 8:13
“In that he saith— A new [G2537: anew, freshness] covenant— he has made the first— old [G3822: obsolete, gone away from customary use—worn out]. Now that which decays and waxes old (obsolete) is —ready to vanish away [G854: disappear, abrogation— formal or official act of canceling, revoking, or nullifying a law, agreement, or custom].”
John 13:34
“A new [G2537: anew, freshness] commandment [G1785: injunction— join in authoritative command, prescriptive authority] I give unto you— That you love one another; as I have loved you— that, you also— love one another.”
Galatians 6:2
“Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law [G3551: where all is parceled out, where we graze, where we are prescribed regulation, and principled] of Christ [G5547: the anointed messiah].”
Romans 13:8-10
“Owe no man anything— but (only) to love one another: for he that loves another has fulfilled the law [G3551: where all is parceled out, where we graze, where we are prescribed regulation, and principled]. For this— Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment [G1785: injunction— join in authoritative command, prescriptive authority], it is briefly comprehended in this saying— namely— Thou shall love your neighbour as yourself. Love works no ill to his neighbour: therefore —love— is the fulfilling of the law [G3551: where all is parceled out, where we graze, where we are prescribed regulation, and principled].”

When we begin to think that we are supposed to be going back to what Jesus brought us out of— we are amiss, and a mess, and backward driven— away from what he brought forward of the Father incarnate— toward us all. He didn’t even follow the ‘letter of’ the law, he fulfilled the ‘SPIRIT OF’ the law (of Heaven, our heavenly Father): for one is outward actions of carnal ordinances— and one is inward obedience to the Father and all he instructs, guides, aims in on, flows forward, and directs— of the heavenly law and conduct of his kingdom and person: and Jesus hit target.
He broke Jewish outward traditional regulations (law) several times over when holding the spirit of the law above the letter of the law; when he held LIFE above outward rules, and saved lives again and again by casting out demons, healing the sick, feeding the disciples on the sabbath (day of rest): LIFE— and life abundantly— was what he came for: something the Pharisees (keepers of the letter of the law) did not understand, nor adhere to. Their pride was in their outward observations— not the inward observation and obedience to the living God himself: the Holy Spirit of Truth— heeded to, hearkened unto, lived under, and obeyed: they would not live by the Spirit (of the conduct/law of heaven), only their own merit or righteousness in outward things observed, of the natural man; not the inward things of the spiritual man: which Jesus demonstrated that he was, as he observed the Lord God, our Father, within him: and hence— all in Christ shall live by the same ‘law,’ of which he walked out, and is yet alive, and fulfilled in him: OBEDIENCE TO THE FATHER— IN ALL HE LED OF HIM.
To ‘sin’ is to miss the mark. And in this case— to miss the mark of the law: the spiritual law, not the letter of the law— the spiritual meaning, and the Spirit himself leading all men in truth: the true form and conduct of elevated spiritual life: that of God and his kingdom.
H2398 - Sin
Hebrew: חטא
Transliteration: châţâ'
Pronunciation: khaw-taw'
Definition: A primitive root; properly to miss; hence (figuratively and generally) to sin; lead {astray} condemn: bear the {blame} {cleanse} commit {[sin]} by {fault} harm he hath {done} {loss} {miss} (make) offend ({-er}) offer for {sin} {purge} purify ({self}) make {reconciliation} ({cause} make) sin ({-ful} {-ness}) trespassive.
Romans 5:12-19
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law— sin was in the world: for sin is not imputed when there is no law.”
May we stop right there: sin is not imputed— when there is no law. This means— when Jesus puts away the old law, and begins us anew in the law of Christ Jesus— to love God and man; then the old law of sin and death can no longer be imputed unto us: no longer be reckoned to one’s account. Now— if we are in Christ— we obey Christ Jesus, our Father, the Holy Spirit— and are conducted internally by heaven— no longer being conducted by outward law written; for it does not exist any longer (the law) in that format; but now exists in being moved by the Spirit of our Father, in Christ Jesus— via the Holy Spirit of God: for the children of God are those led of the Spirit of God.
If we were to continue to adhere to the old letter of the law, in the old covenant, and old ways— we would be held to sin, no longer would sin be taken away— for sin was introduced in that law. We would be held to the letter of that law— and would perish apart from Jesus, because we would not let it go, but held it firmly in our hearts: as did the Pharisees, and perished in their own self-righteousness— or merit by outward observations, missing the mark with aligning with the very living Spirit of God himself— exemplified in Jesus.
No outward, carnal, law— no sin imputed. Outward, carnal law and ordinances observed— sin remains; for no man could do that law: and even Jesus obeyed the Spirit of the law— in our Father.
“Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.”
Again— can we stop right here. Sin passed upon all men— for one sinned originally; which truly meant— one turned away from being led of our Father, missed that mark or alignment, turned his face away from his, and to his own face, mind, heart, ways; and in that— rebelled the leadership, or fatherhood of God. And so— even though not all of us did this, originally, we are from Adam— and thus this passed down to us. SO…. we are to turn it around, come back to the face of God to exalt him, and learn of him— with our yoke to Christ Jesus. And thus— obey the second Adam— who is living spirit, not carnal man— nor of carnal ordinances or law— but of spiritual law/conduct, and ways.
Adam was only a rough outline of who would come— which was Jesus: and Jesus would set a new standard, precedent, way, law, and son— of God: one who now does ONLY what he sees his Father doing: hence— one led of God our Father, and walking by the law/conduct, and conducting— of Heaven: the spirit of the law— OF LIFE, not death— or estrangement, like the first Adam; but of LIFE— after the second, or Omega Adam: of which we are all to be following, and found living from within. And LIFE— is to be led of God, period. Not outward procedures— inward coupling— that leads to the Father doing his life through us.
“But not as the offence (Jesus— not as Adam, the offense), so (he) also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one— many be dead— much more the grace of God— and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ— has abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned (Jesus is different than the first Adam to rebel), so is the gift (different, the result, the reward— different of Jesus): for the judgment was by one— to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences— unto justification. For if by one man's offence— death reigned by one; much more they who receive abundance of grace, and of the gift of righteousness— shall reign (rule) in life— by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one— the free gift came upon all men unto justification [G1347: acquittal— for Christ’s sake] of life. For as by one man's disobedience —many were made sinners [G268: hamartōlos: to miss the mark, to be offensive], so by the obedience of one— shall many be made [G2525: place down (permanently) that is (figuratively) to designate, constitute— appoint, be, conduct, make, ordain, set] righteous [G1342: equitable in character, innocent, and holy].”
_____
One man brought us into missing the mark, turning away from our Father, rebelling, sinning— but by one better man, one good man— the Son of man, the Son of God— come incarnate of the Word of God himself— Jesus Christ: one man, by his graciousness— will make all men, in him, justified— righted, placed down— positioned, permanently— by designation, constituting us, appointing us to be conduct as he is— be made, and ordained, and set— righteous: in equitable character, innocence (from sin or rebellion and missing the mark), and holy— as he is: the workmanship of Christ Jesus— in/unto us: the graciousness of his life lived as he did and is— come unto us to do the same in us, through us: for it is now Christ who lives in me, this temple, mind, heart, and understanding or wisdom: the divine or godly human realized— as God lives his words and deeds (works) through us.
No longer the old law of the letter— detailing sin and death, not able to abide: but now led of the Spirit of God in love toward God and neighbor: for in that— all of the spirit of the law is fulfilled: as Christ Jesus exemplified: LIFE— and life abundantly, RESPECTED: and all life is of God.
True outward actions born of love— come from respecting the will/heart/pleasure/ways/inclinations/mind of God: and that— is the child of God who is led of his Spirit, and the law of his Spirit— that of LIFE.
Now no longer the law Adam passed onto us— of sin and death, missing alignment with God and walking separately; but now in Christ Jesus— respectfully walking in alignment, hand in hand, honoring God as our Father, Leader, Headship and wisdom of us, unified, as one Spirit— and law of: and thus— all shall be made alive again— in him. He shall make all righteous, and fulfill his righteousness (spiritual law in our hearts) in us.
When we begin to understand that ‘to sin’ is to miss the mark of being taught, instructed, learning under the Lord God as Abba directs our steps— we can then come out from that Babylonian way, and unite in love once again to our Father. He forgave us of that rebellion— but we are to not do that witchcraft, fleshly work (deeds) any longer— but turn back to him, and away from that wicked way: he wiped the slate clean for us in Jesus Christ. And thus— we are to be given to him— as a bride gives herself to her husband.
We are to be given to him now, yes?? We are to be under him now, yes, obeying the Spirit— not the flesh (or other mind)?? And in that— we shall not miss the mark, or aligning with our heavenly Father in all he is directing us in— as he points his finger in the way we should Go: and we as his adopted children— no longer prodigal— shall do as he leads of us: for we are the children of God who live after, follow after, and love (that’s obedience to be led of him— to be as he is, and to honor him) God, with all we’ve got— right?? For we have turned back to his face to be led of his Spirit, in repentance, and are created anew in him, spirit, heart, and mind: all your heart, soul, and mind— born again, and under God.
So— to be missing the mark at this point (remaining in sin) would simply be— either not understanding that we are to be led of him now— he the head, we the body. Or it would be not asking him his will— for the children of God are those who know his will— and do it. Not hearers only— but doers of the Word (he’s a person who shall instruct us, and by his kingdom ways, law/conduct/character/demeanor/disposition/name/fruit, etc). Or people who dismiss his will— to override it, and do their own: hence— continued in sin (or continued in— not letting God lead them, guide, instruct, teach, direct, aim them: hence rebellion— to be one’s own ruler/god): which is iniquity— or lawlessness— no law, no instruction, teaching, guiding, or directing from Abba in their lives— like him aiming them to send them forth— as the polished shafts (arrows) of his quiver that they are to be.
Isaiah 49:2
“And he has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand has he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver has he hid me.”
Are we to learn from the old testament? Yes. Are we to understand what God was attempting to cultivate in them of the way, truth, and life? Yes. Are we to do the letter of the law like they attempted to do? No. For Jesus made a new way to unite with God again; and he exemplified life in obedience to the Spirit— of the law or conduct of heaven: the way— and the conducting (headship) of Heaven: which is the Lord— our Father: Jesus, as we would say in America— ‘knocked it outta the park!’ Homerun! He nailed it: perfectly.
He obeyed what and how the Father led him: like how the Lord led David to eat the shewbread from the priests table— which was unlawful to the letter of the law; but was to the higher spiritual law in God— which was the preservation of life, in/of a one obedient and reverent to the Lord God himself: David was not only not infractioning the law of the Father— he was fulfilling it even then: Luke 6:3-5 – “And Jesus answering them said— Have you not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him; how he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone? And he said unto them— That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. ”
The ‘spirit of’ the law: the Spirit who made the law, exemplifies the truth (true form to live) and the ways of heaven, just as Jesus did with those who needed a physician, a deliverer, and a provider.
Mark 3:1-6
“And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there who had a withered hand. And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth. And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace. And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other. And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.”
Mark 2:27-28
“And he said unto them— The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.”
And we are to be ruled by Jesus— and he is our sabbath, our headship, our dictation, our direction, our teacher, our leader, our one in whom we obey, follow, reverence, and love— in whom wears the crown of authority and rule— who reigns in it, within/of us.
Jesus famously cast out an unclean spirit from a man in the synagogue at Capernaum on the sabbath, in Mark 1:21-28 and Luke 4:31-37. He entered the synagogue in Capernaum to teach, and a man possessed by an impure demon shouted at Jesus, saying, "Leave us alone! What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us?" Then he rebuked the demon by commanding it to be quiet and come out of the man— demonstrating his authority. The religious leaders often challenged Jesus for healing the sick on the sabbath, but even this specific synagogue event amazed the crowd because of the absolute authority he had over spiritual forces.
And he said— John 14:10— "The words that I speak unto you— I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works." Clearly denoting that the words, the meaning, the intentions, motivations, and actions that we ‘was/is’ are those of the Father himself working through the vessel/Son, which is Jesus: that man should know and believe for the work’s sake themselves: the actionable proofs of who is at the helm: LIFE— and life abundantly.
The account of Jesus’ disciples picking grain to eat on the sabbath is recorded in three of the gospel records: Matthew 12:1-8, Mark 2:23-28, Luke 6:1-5— when the Pharisees accused the disciples of breaking sabbath law —by harvesting and threshing grain; and Jesus defended them. He argued that human necessity (such as satisfying hunger) takes spiritual, heavenly, precedence— over rigid religious traditions, concluding that "the sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath." (Mark 2:27).
He held to the ‘Spirit’ of the law— not the letter of the law— which kills (or separates, causes distance, and misses the target, by missing the One who is to aim us): and thus leads to sin, and if continued— iniquity. He fulfilled the ‘law,’ of the Spirit of life: he obeyed the inner leading of the Father— from the conduct or law of heaven: Jesus— did not fulfill the law of the letter, but the law of heaven: our Father’s law, Spirit, and Way: hence— HE IS THE WAY, TRUTH, AND LIFE.
Romans 8 verses 1-14 (paraphrased or summarized)
“...who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
“For the law of the Spirit— of life— in Christ Jesus, has made me free from the law of sin and death.”
The old letter of the law— of sin— and estrangement, or death: now living by the leading of the Holy Spirit of Truth (true form, and always pointing us to the Word of God— the person— to lead us in all ways, who is the head of us). No longer bound to the old letter of the law (written down, outward rules and regs), but now bound to Him, and the Spirit of the law conduct of God, in/of his kingdom— and elevated spiritual life: inward— not outward observation.
Romans 2:29 — “...one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.”
Romans 7:6 — “But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in the newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”
Hebrews 8:10 (10:16): “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.”
2 Corinthians 3:6 — “Who also has made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter kills, but the spirit gives life.”
“For what the law could not do… God sending his own Son… condemned sin in the flesh (and we are not to go there, that’s prison— the flesh)... that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
The letter of the law, of outward observation— could not do— and so God sent Jesus to jail missing the mark of alignment with Abba— in the flesh nature: we are not to go to jail, be estranged from aligning with God— in the flesh; but we are called to walk in the spirit with him, aligned, led of him— NOT MISSING THE AIM (mark) any longer: but being the children of God led of his Spirit. SO THAT— the ‘righteousness of’ the law, the conduct of heaven, that of God’s kingdom— would be fulfilled (accomplished) in us: BECAUSE— we shall no longer walk according to the nature that has us rebellious to him, as our own god, and not obedient to his Spirit and Way: his life exalted in us.
“For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.”
Are we minding the estrangement? Minding the flesh? Giving into our own headship— and thus— missing the mark or alignment— whereby our Father shall direct our steps and paths? Or— are we minding him, asking his will, letting him direct us, lead us, teach us, and point us in the way to go— like a good Father does, like a good Shepherd does, like a good Bridegroom and Lord does? Are we children of the Lord, or the devil? Children of the flesh— or the Spirit? Today— you can choose which God/god you will serve: and he forgives the sin, the ‘missing the mark.’ Which tells you— his desire is that we would return to him and his leadership of us— to instruct us, teach us, guide us, lead us, provide for us as well— in reverence given him: so as he can ‘be’ our God of us: that we should no longer miss the alignment— but make it: be led of his Spirit now: that is the law, and the doing away of iniquity, or lawlessness (continued disobedience of his Spirit to lead, which is sin). The law is summarized in love: and love is requited reverence, honor, worth, and exaltation of all that is good— unto another: in this case— the law is to love God, then the neighbor— like we would have done unto ourselves.
“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”
To be flesh minded, self minded, not given to the Lord to lead us— nor given to loving God or the neighbor— is estrangement from both, and is death or separation itself: and thus— hell is full of those who revered, honored, requited a self worth and exaltation of good unto self alone— irreverent to God and other (no divine love).
“Because the carnal mind (selfish mind) is enmity (actively warring) against God (and his headship, and ways): for it is not subject to the law of God (the conduct of heaven, or elevated, selfless, spiritual life), neither indeed can be.”
“So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” Cannot— please God. [G700] please— be agreeable, with exciting emotion. To please God— is to agree with God, excitedly. Those led of the self mind and heart— to serve the good to oneself— not God, nor neighbor— are at active war against the Spirit of God, and the law/conduct of God: they war against LIFE— and thus— are supporters of DEATH (estrangement, rebellion, and lawlessness).
“But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit— if— so be that the Spirit of God dwells (does he live) in you. Now if any man has not the Spirit of Christ (living in him), he is none of his.”
Why do I emphasize LIVE in you or me? Because what I mean is— IS HE ABLE TO LIVE HIS LIFE OUT OF YOU OR ME?? Or are we living as we would will and do— apart from him?? If anyone has Christ living, dwelling, in them— they will have Christ moving in/of them— and will be led of his Spirit, as a child of God: one who serves the Father, and no longer a servant of sin: for the servant of sin shall not always dwell in the house— but the son shall.
John 8:34-36 “Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin. And the servant (of sin— not honoring Abba to lead us by his will) abides not in the house forever: but the Son abides forever (the obedient and reverent one— led of Abba). If the Son therefore shall make you free— you shall be free indeed (from serving sin, or serving self, or not being led of him: hence— ‘if’ —the Son shall make you free from that lifestyle to serve self— then shall you be free indeed to serve Him).”
“And if Christ be in you— the body [G4983: sound-whole] is dead because of sin, but— the Spirit is life because of righteousness.”
If Christ be in you— the sound-whole is dead because of sin, BUT NOW— the Spirit is life unto us— because of righteousness: his righteousness being fulfilled (fully filling us now) —in us: new birth, new life, new ways, new law/conduct, new leadership, new persons!
“And if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you; he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal [G2349: liable to die] bodies— by his Spirit that dwells in you.”
I do not believe we have to be a body or sound-whole of death (estrangement and rebellion, sin, iniquity) any longer— if we return to exalt and revere God in us! He said so, right here. The very same Spirit of God that raised Jesus (which means— collected him, and caused him to be spiritually elevated in life) —dwells in the children loving, and obedient, to God as well; and he shall quicken— or make alive again— our mortal bodies, the sound-whole of us— BY HIS SPIRIT WHO DWELLS IN US: new life, and life abundantly!!
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
I do not follow the ‘letter of’ the law— I have learned the spiritual understanding from it, and continue to. I am beholden to one, the Lord (not the old law): Jesus Christ— who is set as the Father’s right hand of power, authority, and rule— IN ME— and over all of creation: as a son of God. And do you know what? His law is greater than the first written law— for it is the essence of the spiritual understanding of the letter of law regulations— and is now bringing the spiritual understanding into his actual headship of us: not only is it spiritual understanding in us, but it is us respecting him within as the Spirit of truth— who is Abba: that we should be raised up as children in the way to go— let him lead in all things, and guide and aim us— and never depart from that: that was his intentions all along: to father us— and that we should be unto him— his children.

A new people— born again. A new testament. A new law— conduct, and conducting, from Heaven above— our Father, Lord, and God. A new kind of priest and priesthood. A new covenant— in and through Christ Jesus— the Son of God, the Lamb, the Messiah, the King of kings and Lord of lords— set as the Right Hand of God in all authority and dominion: that we should obey the Lord God. Who displayed the Father to us all; and how to serve him in the temple (inner man) —that leads to the words and deeds of the Father in and through us all: as his children.

It’s LIFE —that is emphasized.
