“The 7 spirits of God”

This was a post that I did exclusively on my Facebook, not sure why--- so, I am including it here now, for easier reference.

____________________________________________________________

If you don’t know the 7 spirits of God personally, and intimately– I encourage you to read this, and speak to God about engaging with them individually– and gaining what he made of your inheritance– in the areas he wishes to bless you with, in discipleship, sonship– and being RAISED BY GOD, his way– via the 7 spirits of God.

____________________________________________________________

Isaiah 11:1-3

“11 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse [Yah’shua], and a Branch [us] shall grow out of his roots:

2 And the SPIRIT of THE LORD shall rest upon him, the THE SPIRIT of WISDOM, UNDERSTANDING, of COUNSEL and MIGHT, the spirit of KNOWLEDGE, and of THE FEAR OF the Lord;

3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears.”

Meaning– he will not judge others and situations as ‘man’ does, he will not only hear, as ‘man’ does– but instead, he will be moved about by the Spirit of the Father himself.

There are seven distinct expressions of the one Holy Spirit of God: Spirit of the Lord, 2. Spirit of Wisdom, 3. Spirit of Understanding, 4. Spirit of Counsel, 5. Spirit of Strength, 6. Spirit of Knowledge, and 7. the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord.

Just as God is ONE– but has three distinct separations: Father, Son and Holy Spirit– he has seven distinct expressions, made individual for raising us up in the way– in their expertise.

Revelation 3:1 “To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of Him who holds the 7 spirits of God and the 7 stars.”

+

Revelation 4:5 “From the throne came flashes of lightning rumblings and peals of thunder, Before the throne, 7 lamps were blazing. These are the 7 Spirits of God.”

+

Revelation 5:6 “Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the 4 living creatures and the elders. He has 7 horns and 7 eyes, which are the 7 Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.”

____________________________________________________________

7 = Fullness 7 Horns = Fullness of Power 7 Eyes = Fullness of Insight

The seven Spirits of God are sent out into the earth to accomplish the will of God in equipping and raising his children; but how do the 7 spirits of God do that?

This occurs as spirit-filled believers in Christ Jesus carry the fullness of His presence everywhere they go; it is you and I that are to be learning under his 7 divisions, and coming into Father’s image within ourselves, and expressing these 7 attributes of the Lord’s nature, WITH HIM, as we are One in Spirit with him now.

In fact, it is that ONENESS– that teaches us from the 7 spirits [nature attributes geared toward that of discipleship], in HOW TO HAVE OUR BEING; God himself equips us with his expertise, in the 7 spirits of God– to raise up his own children– his way.

But we have to willingly participate with him, and them, in the reformation process; they are the REFORMER SPIRITS OF GOD– on mission to– reform man from the inside out, with and by– the Holy Spirit of God.

How do we think he brings us into ALL TRUTH??

By his Spirit– and all his Spirit holds.

Revelation 1:20 “The mystery of the 7 stars that you saw in my right hand, and of the 7 golden lampstands is this: The 7 stars are the 7 angels of the 7 churches– and the 7 lampstands are the 7 churches.”

+

Revelation 3:1 “These are the words of Him who holds the 7 spirits of God and the 7 stars.”

+

Revelation 4:5 “Before the throne, 7 lamps were blazing. These are the 7 Spirits of God.”

____________________________________________________________

“Notice the interchange between the 7 Spirits, the 7 lampstands and the 7 stars; each church listed in Revelation 2 and 3 has a messenger or “angel” assigned to them.

The lampstands are the 7 churches of Asia Minor; the 7 stars are an allegorical typology of the 7 angels assigned to each of the 7 churches.

But the blazing or burning lamps are a representation of the 7 Spirits of God.” – James Goll

Let’s study those 7 spirits, or discipling attributes of God– that he wishes for us to learn from, of him.

____________________________________________________________

The Spirit of the Lord.

The Spirit of the Lord was present in the old testament and the new testament; the Spirit of the Lord often showed up, and was described as– ‘one who looks like the Son of God–’ that is not an accident.

The Son is the fullness of God expressed in Word [speech], Truth, Holiness, Love, Precept and Body– to the children in the earth; he said– “if you have seen the Son, you have seen the Father.” This was not only about looks and appearances physical, but spiritual– in truth, love and all nature attributes of God expressed.

The Spirit of the Lord– is the Spirit of the Father, and has been expressed through the life of the Son– as the Son led not himself, but only did and expressed what the Father said and showed; he did not lead his own life– and he is our example to be the same in image, which is to say– allow the Father to lead us in all manner– by the Spirit of the Lord God.

Lord means– someone or something having power, authority, or influence; a master or ruler, a name for God the Father in the old testament– and of the Son– since Father put all things into his hand, and they are CONGRUENT.

The ROOT definition is– “BREAD KEEPER.”

And the Strong’s definition of Lord is– THE SELF EXISTENT, or ETERNAL ONE– JEHOVAH.

I would say that represents God in general; the Father, the bread keeper in the old testament, with his Spirit over them– and the Son, the bread keeper in the New Testament– as he parented and raised up the Father’s children students.

And how did he do that??

____________________________________________________________

With number 2– THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM.

What is Wisdom?

means– the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; the quality of being wise– the SOUNDNESS OF THAT ACTION, and THE BODY OF KNOWLEDGE and PRINCIPLES that develops within a specified group of people.

The Strong’s definition is: GOOD SENSE, and SKILLFUL WIT.

God is attempting, when deploying his spirit of Wisdom– to raise us up in the way; to raise his children, and bring them into living separated, set apart, sanctified and consecrated lives, unto God himself– learning how to WALK IN THE TRUTH.

The Truth itself– as God is the way, the TRUTH, and Life itself– IS GOD’S MIND, HEART, CONDUCT and WAYS; wisdom helps us to KNOW GOD, literally and spiritually– his insides– detailed out to us.

He is like a vault of graceful information, conduct and nature; he moves in love, he lives truth and he radiates grace– which is unmerited love. But he is SO MUCH MORE, and with and by his spirit of Wisdom– he will lead us into all truth: which means REALITY of ALL THAT IS HIM.

But Wisdom is futile– without understanding.

____________________________________________________________

The 3rd spirit of God is– THE SPIRIT OF UNDERSTANDING.

We need to not only be given the wisdom of the Lord, but without Understanding– it is dead in action; it is altogether unprofitable to a man, if he does not understand what the Lord’s wisdom is teaching and instructing that man to attain in character, nature, and knowledge [factual truths] of the Lord.

Understanding– the ability to understand something; COMPREHENSION, the power of abstract thought, INTELLECT, an individual's PERCEPTION or JUDGMENT of a situation, sympathetic awareness, an informal or unspoken agreement or arrangement, PERCEIVE THE INTENDED MEANING, INTERPRET or VIEW something IN A PARTICULAR WAY, regard something mentally.

Strong’s definition of Understanding is– KNOWLEDGE BASED IN PERFECTLY UNDERSTANDING WISDOM.

There is always a reason why God puts things in order in the scripture, they follow a sequence of NEED– one upon the other– in order of necessity, to gain the fullness of– WHAT IS, and WHO IS– the Spirit of the living God.

If we do not receive God’s wisdom, and then understand the meaning of that wisdom– applying it to our lives will be really difficult, especially applying it properly– because COMPREHENSION is necessary; and understanding, brings in comprehension, which is to say– “OH, I get it!”

When engaging the Spirit of the Lord, gaining his wisdom and his understanding– we next need his counsel.

____________________________________________________________

The 4th spirit of God mentioned, or spirit of expertise in God mentioned, is– THE SPIRIT OF COUNSEL.

We may have the wisdom, the understanding comprehension of it, but if we do not have his COUNSEL– we may not apply it all properly– and not receive the results that either God is seeking, or man himself.

Definition of Counsel– advice– especially formally given, consultation [lawyers], professional help to resolve personal or psychological problems successfully; root definition– CONSULTATION, ADVICE.

And the Strong’s definition– ADVICE– by implication PLAN [strategize] also PRUDENCE [cautious] PURPOSE.

You see, we can have all the wisdom and understanding we can hold– but if we do not let God lead us in it– WE WILL FAIL.

He is the mediator, the counselor, the advocate– all those are descriptors of how he wishes to LEAD HIS CHILDREN; if we are rebellious, we will reap confusion and chaos into our lives, fear and doubt– because we DO NOT SEEK HIS COUNSEL.

And yet– as we can see here– his spirit of Counsel has already been given us; are we engaging with him, through his spirit of COUNSEL, as the COUNSELOR??

I get such PEACE, such SHALOM– godly order restored, where chaos once reigned– inside of me, BECAUSE I SEEK HIS COUNSEL, before all decisions are made, and actions are carried out; and when I have not– it doesn’t always go the way I would like it to.

You see, we can often be right– and completely blow it– if it’s not what God is wanting us to say, do, or bring up right then– right or not.

Gaining his Counsel, and asking for him in his Counselor role to come alongside us and instruct us– IS VITALLY IMPORTANT– and beneficial to both man, and his God.

Now that we have the Spirit of the Lord present, his wisdom given, his understanding applied, and his counsel sought as to how, when, and where to unroll all of that– we need his Strength to get the job done– as we witness his Spirit through us, and fulfill our Great Commission in the world: bringing the Good News of Yah’shua and the Father– to the people.

____________________________________________________________

Number 5– THE SPIRIT OF STRENGTH.

Strength is not only physical might, it’s emotional, mental and spiritual MIGHT or BOLDNESS and EMPOWERMENT; we can only gain that through his very presence going along with us.

Definition Might– great and impressive power or strength– especially of a nation, large organization, or natural force.

Strong’s definition of Might– A FORCE, by implication VALOR, VICTORY, MASTERY FORCE, POWER.

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things– through Christ– who strengthens me.”

Strengthen– make or become stronger. [simple]

So, we can see we need God to help us engage with his Spirit in his MIGHT– as we need to be emboldened, made stronger [spiritually and literally], gain MASTERY and VICTORY and VALOR– just to walk this life out in this realm, and complete our missions with him.

But also– that’s the type of humans he sets out to raise in general– as he is the ALMIGHTY– we are to be raised up to be mighty in the Lord as well; he is our Father, and we are to be Fathered in his ways and attributes.

This is one who is a FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH– against the wiles of the devil; a child raised up by God Almighty!

With the presence of the Spirit of the Lord + wisdom + understanding + counsel + the might of the Lord– we come to the need to gain his KNOWLEDGE.

____________________________________________________________

THE SPIRIT OF KNOWLEDGE– is number 6 in our listing of God’s spirits sent to man, to raise him up in the way– and come to know his God in truth and in Spirit.

Definition Knowledge– facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject. A true, justified belief– and a certain understanding– as opposed to opinion; an awareness or familiarity gained by experience of a fact or situation.

The root definition– ACKNOWLEDGE, RECOGNIZE.

Strong’s definition of Knowledge– CUNNING, AWARES, wittingly.

His facts and truth, according to him and his realm, his skills– we acquire through experiential and personal interactions with him, being educated by him– and practicing his subjects taught…

brings about a true and justified belief, in a very certain and unvarying way– in an awareness and familiarity of God– PERSONALLY– in our experience with his Spirit.

THAT’S THE DEFINITION OF KNOWLEDGE– believe it or not!

Can we understand now how the prophetic folk get ‘words of knowledge?’

Because they have to actually engage with the spirit part of God that is detailed, and walks in the expertise of PERSONAL SKILLS of his nature, attributes and lessons learned– in INTERACTIONS WITH God himself– through THE SUBJECTS TAUGHT and PRACTICED OUT, with and by his

Spirit– bringing an AWARENESS to people: Words of Knowledge!!

____________________________________________________________

And the last spirit of God spoken of is the 7th– THE FEAR OF THE LORD.

Did we even KNOW– there is a spirit of God– that comes around to teach us what it is to FEAR THE LORD?!

Fear in the dictionary– an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, or a threat; a REVERENCE or AWE of someone, or something.

Root meaning– CALAMITY, DANGER, FRIGHTEN– or REVERE [honor].

Mostly, I have always taught it’s the reverence of the Lord– in honor; but I do believe we should touch on all of these, because there is truth in them all.

Do we understand that God is dangerous, in that he is mighty, and has the last say in all things– he dictates– via man’s sow and reap, who makes it into his family, and who does not– and he controls ALL OF CREATION– including the evil spirits, they bow and confess such.

And that is frightening– IF YOU ARE NOT REVERENCING HIM.

Which is to say, he’s scary– if you are estranged from him, don’t live with him, abide by him and his ways, and are not unified in him– married as one; I believe that SHOULD frighten folks– if they are operating in their ‘right minds.’

But let’s see what the Strong’s definition is– FEAR, MORAL REVERENCE, DREADFUL.

It’s quite similar, actually, to the dictionary definition– and since the Lord included all of this– we ought to be mindful that the full dictionary definition– is what he desires for us to be acquainted with, even the frightful part.

We ought to reconcile unto God the Father again– by coming to the Son, Yah’shua Hamashiach, and accepting all he has provided for us, in the Cross and Calvary– and then never have to see what eternal separation and punishment of spiritual wickedness, away from the Father of Love– is like!

____________________________________________________________

When we engage the Spirit of God in all his manifestations, divisions and natures– we see the fullness of God; Jesus came, and embodied the Father and his Spirit– in Word and deed– and he told us so.

John 14:9 “Jesus said unto him– Have I been with you, such a long time, and yet have you not known me– Philip? He that has seen me– has seen the Father– and how do you say then– Show us the Father??”

If we want to KNOW THE FATHER, the one in whom we all came out from– who gave us an autonomous life force to express ourselves personally– in whom he wishes to engage with separately– to know him…

We ought to engage ALL 7 OF HIS FATHERING SPIRITS: the 7 spirits of God who raise us up in his ways and nature– giving expertise in these areas, given full access to them– when the Son made the way back to reconciling with the Father– possible.

____________________________________________________________

Those who truly wish to know God– should engage God in all his spirit forms, because in them– his fullness is revealed in his Fatherly ways he wishes to raise all of us:

1. Spirit of the Lord 2. Spirit of Wisdom 3. Spirit of Understanding 4. Spirit of Counsel 5. Spirit of Strength 6. Spirit of Knowledge 7. the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord.

In engaging God in all these ways– we LEARN GOD; which is to say– we learn who he is, how he operates, what he knows, how he leads, what his strength is, how to reverence him– and who our Father really is.

And think– WE ALL NEED THAT!!!
