His Dominion— and YOU

Numbers 24:17, 19

“I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob— and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel… Out of Jacob shall come he who shall have dominion…”

Psalms 8:4-9

“What is man, that you are mindful of him— and the son of man, that you visit him?

For you have made him a little lower than the angels, and (or but) have crowned (bestowed) him with glory and honor.

You made him to have dominion over the works of your hands;  you have put all things under his feet:  All sheep and oxen, yea— and the beasts of the field;  the fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea— and whatsoever passes through the paths of the seas.  Oh Lord our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth!”

Psalms 119:133

“Order my steps— in your word:  let not any iniquity [trouble, wickedness, affliction, sorrow, injustice, unrighteousness] have dominion [to dominate, govern or be permitted, bearing rule with power] over me.”

_______

Here we see that the righteous man, the godly man— will be ‘under’ the dominion of our Lord, under his rule in their lives;  and here, the one who lives this way is asking and believing God to ‘order his steps,’ by the Word of God:  by the decree of the high King and Priest— true belief/faith in him to do so.

And he’s petitioning our Lord, in his ordered steps over his life— to not allow TROUBLE to over take him— as one definition in the Strong’s for H205, is TROUBLE, where it said ‘iniquity.’

He says— “Do not let trouble, have dominion over me, or otherwise— to dominate, govern or be permitted, bearing rule with power over me.”

Daniel 6:26

“I make a decree— That in every dominion of my kingdom— men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel:  for he is the living God— and steadfast forever;  his kingdom which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion— shall be to the end.”

Daniel 7:12

“And there was given him dominion and glory— and a kingdom that all people, nations, and languages— should serve him:  his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away— and his kingdom— which shall not be destroyed.”

Daniel 7:27

“And the kingdom and dominion— and the greatness of the kingdom, under the whole heaven— shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High— whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom— and all the dominions shall serve and obey him.”

Micah 4:8

“And you— Oh tower of the flock— the stronghold [fortress] of the daughter of Zion [capital and mountain of Jerusalem— the city of peace] —unto you shall it come— the first dominion [rule of a realm (kingdom), government and power];  the kingdom shall come to the daughter [apple of his eye, relationship, the company of God] of Jerusalem.”

Romans 6:14

“For sin [offenses against God] shall not have dominion [rule, be lord of you and exercise that lordship] over you:  for you are not under [beneath] the law— but under [beneath] grace [graciousness of manner or act— spiritual— of divine influence upon the heart, and it’s reflection in life;  gratitude, benefit, favor, gift, joy, liberty and the pleasure of God].”

________

Here we can see that sin means— to continue to offend God, and now, in Christ— to be one who continues to offend God, or sin— it will now, in Christ, by his lead, and obedience and reverence unto him…

Will not have dominion, or rule— being the LORD OF US, OVER US, exercising that lordship (that’s commanding us and turning us about) over us any longer;  that means— YOU WILL STOP FUNCTIONING THAT WAY, the way of the old man— because you have the ability in Christ to do all things, and to revere him, and the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ…

IS STRONGER THAN THE LAW OF SIN, which brings, DEATH:  estrangement through offenses— sin that separates.

NOW— we have the ability to overcome the sin nature, and continued in sin or offenses against God, godliness and his RULE over us (as we subjugate ourselves UNDER his rule in our hearts) —so as to WALK IN LIFE, in Christ now:  where LIFE, has now— DOMINION OVER DEATH, which is:  rebellion and disobedience, under offenses against God, and dishonor toward him.

Because NOW— we are under, or beneath— NOT THE LAW— but his graciousness, his grace:  graciousness of manner or act— spiritual— of divine influence upon the heart, and it’s reflection in life;  gratitude, benefit, favor, gift, joy, liberty and the pleasure of God.

The divine INFLUENCE UPON OUR HEARTS, and his reflection in our lives, that bring in gratitude, benefits, favor, gifts, joy, liberty and the pleasure (or will of) God…  CHANGES A MAN, and brings into that man’s life— THE DOMINION OF LIFE over death, estrangement, powerlessness, and sin:  and it brings in LIBERTY, JOY, BENEFITS, GIFTS and FAVOR;  all because Christ was exalted and believed— to be who he is, in this person’s heart— for real.

“And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power which he wrought in Christ— (it’s that) when he raised him from the dead, (he) set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion— and every name that is named, not only in this world— but also in that which is to come:  and has put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church— which is his body— the fullness of him that fills all in all.”

Colossians 1:12-29

“Giving thanks unto the Father— which has made us meet, to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:  who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:  In whom we have redemption— through his blood— even the forgiveness of sins:  who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

For —by him— were all things created— that are in heaven, and that are in earth— visible and invisible— whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers:  all things were created by him, and for him:  and he is before [front one, superior, above] all things, and by him all things consist.

And he is —the head— of the body, the church:  who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things— he might have the preeminence [first rank or influence].

For it pleased the Father that in him should —all fullness dwell;  and, having made peace— through the blood of his cross— by him, to reconcile all things unto himself;  by him, I say— whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

And you, who were sometime (afore) alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works— yet now, has he reconciled— in the body of his flesh through death— to present you holy and unblameable, and unreproveable in his sight:

If you continue in —the faith— grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel— which you have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven;  whereof I Paul am made a minister;  who now rejoices in my sufferings for you— and fill up that which is behind, of the afflictions of Christ— in my flesh, for his body's sake— which is the church:

Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you— to fulfill the word of God; even the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations— but now is made manifest to his saints:  To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:  Whom we preach— warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man— perfect [whole] in Christ Jesus:  Whereunto I also labor, striving according to— his working, which works in me —mightily.”

Genesis 1:26, 28

“And God said— Let us make man in our image [resemblance, and representation of figure], after our likeness [resemblance, shape, manner and similitude]: and let them have dominion [to tread down, subjugate, prevail against, rule, overtake] —over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle— and over all the earth [ground]— and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

And God blessed them, and God said unto them— Be fruitful, and multiply,  replenish the earth, and subdue it [tread down, conquer, subjugate and bring in under bondage/force, keep it under]:   have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.”

______________________

Not only did Jesus walk in the dominion of God, whilst in his body on the earth— but God has given his creation called man— dominion over ‘everything that moves,’ upon the earth.  He said— subdue it with dominionand both those words mean the same thing— tread down, conquer, subjugate and bring in under bondage/force, keep it under rule.

So, in Christ Jesus— living in and by his command, as commanding one over us— God gave us his dominion in the earth;  as well— originally— God made us in his ‘image,’ or his likeness, which means— resemblance, shape, manner and similitude— and in that, we were given dominion over all that moves in the earth, with the intent that we will subdue it, or tread it down, conquer it, subjugate it and bring in under bondage/force, and keep it under rule.

This is not speaking of exerting dominion over one another— like man ruling over man by force— but it is speaking of ‘the things in/of the earth.’  Do we understand what that means?

It means— if it is out of control— we are to put it under control, or under dominion/rule— in the earth, and set things right, ACCORDING to the lead of the holy Spirit— who rules over us, and guides US— in all we do:  those LED OF the Spirit of God, are the children of God (Romans 8).

Christ REBUKED:  storms/seas, devils, sickness, infirmity, death, Pharisees (Lukewarm, or hypocrites), sin— man in disobedience to God and godliness, insubordination, religion, lies, evil/wickedness, lack of faith— and much, much more.

The definition of rebuke— sharp disapproval of behavior or actions, expressing sharp disapproval or criticism;  root definition— Middle English, originally in the sense ‘force back, repress’: from Anglo-Norman French and Old Northern French rebuker, from re- ‘back, down’ + bukier ‘to beat’ (originally ‘cut down wood’, from Old French busche ‘log’).

I love that the root of the definition of rebuke, or— to sharply disapprove of the actions or behavior of something/someone, and to criticize it or correct it by just judgment— is that the root definition says…

To FORCE something BACK, TO REPRESS IT (which means to subdue it with dominion) and to cause it to BACK DOWN by BEATING IT into submission (with words that are powerful in the spirit);  and also— it ties back to a ‘tree’ that needs to be overcome, and CUT DOWN:  the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, that satan’s logic and actions are found in.

Do we understand what God is actually asking of us, in asking us to HAVE FAITH?

He healed a woman, because her faith was put into action, not word service— SHE MOVED as led by her religious persuasion (which is the definition in Strong’s of faith), she moved herself to him, to receive of him— for she ACTUALLY BELIEVED IN HIM, and in his RIGHTEOUSNESS:  she put her person, where her belief really was— and it honored him and his righteousness— and the SUBSTANCE OF HER FAITH— made her free, he said.

_______

Hebrews 11:1

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

_______

Does our faith— have substance found in Christ’s righteousness and dominion over all things?  And then, when it does— do we wait upon the Lord for his Word to come back full, not void?

Because he RULES OVER ALL THINGS IN THIS REALM, and all other realms:  the realm, is the kingdom— and HIS kingdom— reigns supreme, as does he.

Ephesians 1:19-23

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church— which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.”

Do we believe that, for real, inside?

Do we believe that what we ask for, believing— we shall receive?

_______

Matthew 21:22

“And all things, whatsoever you shall ask in prayer— believing— you shall receive.”

_______

Definition shall— expressing the future tense, expressing a strong assertion of intention;  root definition— Old English sceal, of Germanic origin; related to Dutch zal and German soll, from a base meaning ‘owe’.

He’s saying— Then your faith, your religious persuasion you are believing in, Christ Jesus and his dominion— SHALL— or will in future tense, express and strongly assert the intention;  because— you are now OWED that intention and belief in him, via his RIGHTEOUSNESS:  his equity, his fairness and faithfulness of his person.

Did we catch that??

Because HIS DOMINION rules— and it rules in his children, he put it so;  and he spoke it is so.  So— do you believe?  Do you then wait upon the Lord?  Do you not waver, do you become resolute that what you have asked for— he has given you— and that— What he has spoken, it shall be?

Shall, here in scripture is a future tense— do you WAIT ON HIM for these things, thanking in advance for the arrival of the answers and alignments?

Or— do we outside of faith, complain, and speak CURSES over ourselves, like:  “Well, he has not delivered me yet….”  Or, “Well— someday he will deliver me…”

Do we WAIT, and BELIEVE— in the interim that he is requiring of us, to PRACTICE OUR PATIENCE, which let me reiterate means— cheerful (or hopeful) endurance and constancy??

_______

Isaiah 40:31

“They who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Romans 8:25

“But if we hope for that which we do not see, then with patience we await it.”

_______

Do we WAIT upon him, and with cheerful and hopeful, endurance and constancy?

Or do we NEGATE HIS DELIVERANCE, by our LACK OF FAITH— evidenced by WHAT CONTINUES TO COME FORTH (out of our mouths) BY THE ABUNDANCE OF OUR SOULS/HEARTS;  as from the heart— the mouth speaks:  from the TRUE THINGS BELIEVED WITHIN IT— the mouth will continue to witness of it.

We are to be joyfully expecting and hopeful in our WAITING, whilst you ENDURE and remaining RESOLUTE about our waiting— with PATIENCE!

We are often— an undisciplined people— hence, the refining of our souls, in the Refiner’s fire;  we are called to be DISCIPLINED ONES (disciples) —UNDER him (that’s submitted to the truth).

We are called to be THOSE OF FAITH IN HIM, and his DOMINION— not those of lack of faith in him and his dominion;  and then we are called to wait, and to wait patiently upon him— PRACTICING that fruit of his Spirit, in the interim:  exercising our salvation with fear and trembling.

OUR FAITH (when it is real) SHALL MAKE US FREE— as we WALK IN THE TRUTH, and we UPHOLD HIS DOMINION IN THE EARTH:  our earth/souls.

How much is Christ allowed to uphold his dominion in ‘your earth,’ and how much of his dominion— is ‘allowed to reign in your mortal bodies?’
